Background

Marcel was born in Brazil and grew up in Los Angeles. Looking to climb the illusive corporate ladder in his young adulthood, he bounced around between aimless self-absorbed jobs, feeling empty and lost. At this point, he began searching for his identity and purpose. What do I want out of life? was a question Marcel struggled with often. Soon after, he experienced a deep transformation--what he coins as his "Damascus Road" experience (Galatians 1:11-16)--when he hit rock bottom from a painful divorce. Since his recovery and renewal, he has dedicated himself to personal development as well as helping others to experience life changing growth and self-discovery.

Marcel attributes the positive feedback he gets from his coaching clients as having himself experienced failure, sin, lust and rebellion to finding forgiveness, healing, redemption and grace. His spiritual paradigm shift has led to a victorious and abundant joy-filled life.

He is now happily married to the love of his life, Noelle, a licensed therapist, writer and speaker. They reside in Chattanooga, TN and are very active in church life and ministry in the community of Collegedale. Marcel also provides life coaching services for members of the Collegedale Church as part of its counseling team.

Hobbies

Marcel's love of sports and fitness keeps him active in his forties. His hobbies include hiking, camping, beach volleyball, rollerblading, surfing, skiing, traveling, ministering, blogging, and generally having a good time and making people laugh.

Professional History

Marcel has over fifteen years experience in the areas of personal, career, leadership and organizational coaching. He has held leadership positions in human resources and organizational development at large health care institutions and has consulted in the staffing industry for both Fortune 500 corporations and small to medium non-profits.

Now in full-time practice as a Personal Development Coach, Career Consultant, Peoplemap™ Trainer, Speaker and Writer, he guides his clients to discover who they are, define their strengths and learn new strengths to create peak performance in their personal and professional lives.

Education and Training

Marcel has a Masters Degree in Organizational Psychology and a Bachelors Degree in Broadcasting Communications. He is a graduate of the Institute for Life Coach Training, an accredited training program by the International Coach Federation. He is also a Certified PeopleMap™ Trainer, currently training companies and organizations of all sizes nationwide.
